The title of a recently released CBS News article is “Celtics’ guard Rajon Rondo suspended two games for role in fight”
“Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was suspended for the third time this calendar year (January 1-December 31 2012) on Thursday (November 29, 2012) when the NBA told him to sit out two games without pay for starting a skirmish THAT SENT PLAYERS SPRAWLING INTO THE COURTSIDE SEATS“.
“Rondo will miss Friday night’s (November 30, 2012) game against the Portland Trailblazers and Sunday’s (December 2, 2012) against the Bucks in Milwaukee. He will also give up $200,000 in pay” which, let’s be honest, is A LOT OF MONEY FOR A STUPID MISTAKE.
“Celtics center Kevin Garnett was fined $25,000 for his role in the scuffle and Nets forward Gerald Wallace was fined $35,000″.
“Rondo spoke with the league on the telephone on Thursday (November 29, 2012) and made his case. after practice at the Celtics’ workout facility in suburban Boston”, Rondo said: “I told them THE TRUTH. I DON’T think I did anything dirty. I DIDN’T try to START A RIOT” but unfortunately this altercation TURNED INTO “a riot”. “I DON’T think it was more than JUST a pushing war” that QUICKLY GOT OUT OF HAND. This is RONDO‘s INTERPRETATION (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“Celtics coach Doc Rivers said in the afternoon that he was hopeful (that) Rondo WOULD NOT be suspended because no punches were thrown — or at least none caught on camera. But he said he feared the fact that THE SCUFFLE WENT INTO THE STANDS could lead to a suspension“. “the scuffle (that started on the court) went into the stands” SHOULD DEFINITELY “lead to a suspension” because PLAYERS WOULD THEN BE ENDANGERING FANS’ SAFETY.
“The decision was announced shortly before 6 p.m. (on Wednesday November 29, 2012) by NBA disciplinarian Stu Jackson”. Could he be a long lost relative of PHIL JACKSON? This is most likely just another person paid to MAKE HEADLINES/GET A THRILL.
“Nets general manager Billy King said on a conference call that he didn’t agree with the penalties and told Jackson so. He noted that Humphries had scratches all over his left shoulder; the Nets forward posted a picture of them on Twitter with the caption, “Anyone know where I can quickly GET A TETNIS SHOT in Boston?” Humphries is making a bad situation WORSE. He’s turning this into another CIRCUS.
“Earlier, Rivers said on a radio show that he blamed Humphries for the incident. But the referees disagreed, with crew chief James Capers saying in a pool report after the game: “Rondo INITIATED EVERYTHING that proceeded after the foul“. “initiated everything” is the latest twist on “They started it” and “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“King also DEFENDED his player (Humphries), who was not penalized on Thursday (November 29 2012). “I really could care less of what the Celtics say about Kris. I just know WHAT HE DOES FOR US (?)” Humphries is averaging around 8 points per game this season (Web-site/URL: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/498288/kris-humphries). This is DEFENSIVE behavior, a fundamental characteristic of “Difficult People” (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
“Rondo was suspended twice last season (2011-12) after losing his temper — once when he threw a ball at a referee, and again during the playoffs when he chest-bumped an official while disputing a foul call. But, just as he did after those incidents, he INSISTED that he had learned his lesson about taking himself out of the game“. “I know I have to be out there with my teammates. That’s the thing about it. But I was STICKING UP FOR my teammates. I DIDN’T try to start a fight“. This is another ASSERTION/example of someone being “Defensive” (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI). “losing his temper” sounds like what METTAH WORLD PEACE, who is actually still RON ARTEST, would. Actually, Artest IS FAMOUS for “losing his temper”, most notably for the Palace brawl, but also most recently for elbowing JAMES HARDEN(Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metta_World_Peace).
“Rivers said HE THINKS (that) Rondo now understands he is more valuable to his team if he can remain ON THE COURT” obviously. “I DON’T think he went in there thinking, `We’re going to get in a fight‘. It’s snap, it’s quick, and it could happen to ANY of us, and it has happened to ME“. Yes, believe it or not, coaches ARE NOT saints.
Finally, “Rondo said he will work on controlling his temper, but also DENIED THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM“. “I play the game THE RIGHT (?) way. I’m NOT a dirty player. Sometimes (?), I let my emotions get the best of me, but I HAVE NO INTENTION OF HURTING ANYBODY. I go out there and COMPETE EVERY NIGHT and that’s how I play the game. I play the game HARD; I play the game WITH AN EDGE“. Well, it’s this “edge” that now has Rondo in hot water, more specifically SITTING OUT THE NEXT 2 GAMES. “I’m NOT a trash-talker. I DON’T play the game dirty“, at least not as “dirty” as RON ARTEST is known for/known to play around the NBA. “I play HARD and when one of my guys are DISRESPECTED, I RETALIATED“. Well, and we’ve said this about ANDREW BYNUM after he slammed MICHAEL BEASLEY to the floor (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU7RiLERJ-Y), Rondo has been in the NBA since 2006 (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU7RiLERJ-Y), at this stage in his career, Rondo has to know when to stand up his teammates and when to hold back/what he can get away with and what he can’t.
Here’s how the whole skirmish started: “Rondo was thrown out of Wednesday night’s (November 28, 2012) 95-83 loss to the (Brooklyn) Nets in the second quarter when he shoved Nets forward Kris Humphries OFF THE PARQUET to retaliate for a hard foul on Garnett. A shoving match ensued; Rondo, Humphries and Wallace were all ejected”. This is eerily reminiscent of the brawl at THE PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS, in which THE FORMER RON ARTEST (now METTAH WORLD PEACE) was suspended FOR THE REST OF THAT SEASON (Web-site/URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacers%E2%80%93Pistons_brawl). Actually, “Mettah World Peace” is still RON ARTEST in many ways.
This is the latest case of “They started it” and “We think they made us mad; they think we made them mad and here we go” (Web-site/URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnAY_eXYbI).
