The title of a recently released Al-Jazeera article is “China’s Communist Party to name new leader” (Web-site/URL: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia-pacific/2012/11/2012117105056617576.html).
“China’s ruling Communist Party has said that its HIGHLY ANTICIPATED congress would last a week and signaled that Vice President Xi Jinping had moved closer to taking the reins of power”. “highly anticipated?” WHY? This was already A FOREGONE CONCLUSION/PRE-DETERMINED.
“Xi was tapped for a key post overseeing the congress, which occurs every five years and opens on Thursday (November 8, 2012)”.
“At the meeting, he is expected to replace President Hu Jintao as party chief in a once-a-decade power transition that will be watched around the world”.
According to party spokesman Cai Mingzhao, “The preparatory meeting passed the appointment of COMRADE (?) Xi Jinping as secretary-general of the congress”, “adding that the next set of leaders would be unveiled at the end of the meeting”. “Comrade” is a CIRCUS. Again, in an UNdemocratic society, POLITICIANS are free to SERVE THEMSELVES/PURSUE NARROW SELF-INTERESTS/IDEOLOGIES/PRINCIPLES. “[The congress] will be one of GREAT IMPORTANCE (?), when China is in a CRUCIAL stage of building a MODERN (?) and prosperous society in ALL respects, taking on REFORM and OPENING UP (?), and accelerating the transformation of the GROWTH pattern“. Again, there are TWO things to note here and these two concepts/ideas are related. First is China TRULY “modern?” IF it is, why do we still see and hear about men chasing women (in a romantic sense) only because THEIR PARENTS TOLD THEM TO DO SO? Also, IF China is TRULY “opening up”, then they would ALLOW access to SOCIAL MEDIA such as TWITTER and FACEBOOK without unnecessary censorship.
Finally, “Preparations for the CLOSED-DOOR power handover come as Americans re-elected President Barack Obama IN THE FULL GLARE OF THE WORLD’S MEDIA, prompting pungent comment by Chinese internet users at their own LACK OF democracy“. According to “a posting on a microblog service run by internet giant Tencent”, “Why has the Chinese people’s interest in the US presidential election reached A NEW HIGH? Because the Chinese people have GIVEN UP (on) their own affairs… (because) THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HANDLE THEM!” EVERYTHING in China is “closed door” . Again, THIS IS NOTHING NEW.
