COLTS Fan GETS HIS DYING WISH: Yahoo!

The title of a recently released Yahoo! article is “Colts fan gets his dying wish: Special access to this Sunday’s (September 23, 2012) game (Web-site/URL: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/colts-fan-gets-dying-wish-special-access-sunday-182444016–nfl.html).

“Danny Webber, a terminally ill 74-year-old man from the Indianapolis area, has asked for and received a simple last wish: Tickets to this Sunday’s (September 23, 2012) game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars”. The Colts are 1-1 while the Jaguars are 0-2.

“Webber, who is suffering from prostate cancer THAT HAS SPREAD to his lungs and spleen, will attend the game at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium through Heritage House, the senior community where he lives in Greensburg, Ind. Heritage House’s dietary manager got the tickets through people she knows at a local bank”. As we know, prostate cancer is usually not fatalUNLESS it spreads.

“in a Thursday (September 20, 2012) phone interview”, Webber said: “This one WILL BE VERY SPECIAL…” “His voice cracked with emotion as he tried to finish the sentence. “… because this will be THE LAST ONE I EVER see“. It is always emotional when we are FORCED TO accept our own mortality.

According to Heritage House activity director Myranda Hartwell, “who will attend the game with Webber”, “He’s (Webber is) one of the first dreams we’re helping to fulfillYou can see how much better it makes him feel“. The look on people’s faces when they’ve realized someone has helped them fulfill a lifelong passion/dream is just priceless. Also notice Hartwell’s job title: ACTIVITY directorEVEN FOR TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTSIT IS CRITICAL that they live out the rest of their lives doing the things that they loveNO MATTER HOW SHORT THAT TIME ISTHE WORST thing a terminally ill patient/person can do is shut down causing everyone around them to shut down and even freak out. This is a shot in the face of the 7*7 = 49 day argument that CHINESE people say we have to observe when a family member or a friend passes awaydays is long enoughAfter 49 days of being COMPLETELY shut downTHE WHOLE WORLD/EVERYONE WOULD BECOME DYSFUNCTIONALOn top of thisour dying relatives WOULDN’T us to act/be like that if they were still aroundSurely they would want to see us LIVING OUR LIVES TO THE FULLEST.

“Hartwell said that Webber is one of the staff’s favorite residents”. “Hartwell told Yahoo Sports’ Eric Adelson” He’s an AMAZING guy. You have to meet this guy. You walk into his room and you can tell he’s a GENTLE, LOVING SOUL. He’s a kid at heart. He’s always been A PEOPLE PERSON. He’s a veteran. ALWAYS WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE“, very good/desirable traits.

“Hartwell said of Webber’s Colts fandom” “[It’s] very obvious when you walk into his room. It’s everywhere. We had a Colts TAILGATING (party?)” OK so we know that Danny Webber is a guy who likes to HAVE FUN and has A SENSE OF HUMORHe comes down sporting all of his blue. He began telling me of his LOVE for the Colts”.

Finally, “Webber has been invited to a tailgating party and though Hartwell told Adelson that she believes (that) there are those (who are) more deserving, Webber knew (that) he wanted to take her”. “Even yesterday (September 20, 2012), I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THISI don’t think I’ll believe it when I’m sitting in the standson Sunday (September 23, 2012)”PERHAPS this is another CHEN-NING YANG moment? (Web-site/URL: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-12/16/content_400791.htm).

“The Colts were told of Webber’s wish on Friday (September 21, 2012) and they quickly moved to make his experience better. He will not sit in the 500 level as was originally planned — now, he will have pregame sideline access and VIP status in the club lounge. Webber and his companions will also have some of the best seats in the house for the game”.

FINALLY, we have a report of an organization doing GOOD/HELPING someone/engaging in an act of COMPASSION, which is increasingly rare these days given how ANGRY/DISENCHANTED people are and how DYSFUNCTIONAL society seems to have become.
