The title of a recently released Yahoo! article is “HOUSE approves Paul Ryan budget plan” (Web-site/URL: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/house-approves-paul-ryan-budget-plan-193500420.html).
“The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday (March 29, 2012) approved a $3.53 trillion budget proposal that would REDUCE SPENDING by more than $5 trillion over 10 years compared to President Barack Obama’s budget recommendations, would overhaul the federal Medicare program, and would REDUCE TAXES and SPENDING on certain programs“. The GOP is ALWAYS singing the “reduce taxes and spending” song.
“The House voted 228-191 to pass the bill with 10 REPUBLICANS opposing it”. These 10 Republicans must be FACING TOUGH RE-ELECTION BIDS. This is what BLANCHE LINCOLN would say. “Democrats UNANIMOUSLY opposed the measure“. NO SURPRISE THERE. HOUSE Democrats are the new “Party of ‘No'”.
“Speaking from the House floor Wednesday (March 28, 2012), Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., criticized the bill for TRIMMING GOVERNMENT SPENDING for STUDENTS and overhauling the current Medicare structure”. DEMOCRATS will surely claim that we need to HELP “students” while Republicans will counter that we need to “trim GOVERNMENT spending”. The GOP thinks that EVERYTHING is a “government” TAKEOVER.”For the sake of our seniors, for our families, for our children (and) for our workers—I urge my colleagues to vote ‘NO‘ on the Republican plan“. This is yet more evidence that DEMOCRATS are the new “Party of ‘No'”. Again, this goes around in cycles with the minority party being “the Party of ‘No'” every time.
Finally, “House Democrats proposed their own budget, which the House SHOT DOWN” obviously because Democrats DON’T HAVE THE NUMBERS IN THE HOUSE. The Democrats lost control of the House by losing a STAGGERING 63 seats in the 2010 “shellacking” (Web-site/URL: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20021691-503544.html). As far as who will be victorious in the 2012 Congressional elections (inmcluding the House & the Senate) IS ANYONE’S GUESS.
It’s also interesting that CHRIS VAN HOLLEN didn’t comment here. Van Hollen, of course, is the Ranking Member on the House Budget Committee.
So, PARTISAN POLITICS/POLITICAL BICKERING is back folks just in time forTHE ELECTIONS (House, Senate & PRESIDENT/THE WHITE HOUSE). THIS YEAR WILL BE HUGE in terms of determining the direction in which we’re headed.
